Converted from an old stable block, AR Design Studio‘s Manor House Stables, in Hampshire, England, is a fantastic three-bedroom, single-storey house. Show the rest of this post…

Having to transform the Grade II listed building without removing any of the period features, the exposed brickwork and timber partitions throughout add real character and warmth. The three bedrooms are situated on the western end, with the kitchen and dining room in the middle and a lounge and small terrace to the east. Old horse troughs are used as sink basins and tethering rings as towel hoops to finish off the property.

Reminiscent of the amazing Treehotel, in Sweden, Whitepod Resort, however, is just one hour out of Geneva, Switzerland, offering a camp of 15 dome-shaped pods, containing a luxury bedroom, bathroom, and at the front, one of the most breathtaking views across the Alps you’ll ever see. Each equipped with wood-burning stoves for heat, they’re anchored on a wooden platform and raised above the cold snow and ground beneath. With a chalet at the centre, where guests are served breakfast and dinner, and skiing literally off the porch, this ranks pretty high on my holiday wish list before spring.

Office Envy: Adobe Campus

By Sam Bathe on 11 Jan 2013

Adobe have lost a bit of their sparkle over the last few years, and while Creative Suite is the go-to design software, the frailties of Flash Player hasn’t done them any favours. Their office, however, is right up their with the best across tech and agency spaces. Design firm Rapt Studio were behind the reinvention, tasked to create a space that reflects innovation and dynamism, including a full-sized basketball court, gym, rock climbing wall plus the standard games room and cafeteria. Splashes of colour from Pantone give it an extra lease of life too. We’re jealous.

Installed in Tatton Park, a 16th-century estate in the heart of north-west England, Olivier Grossetete‘s Pont De Singe Bridge floats in the middle of a pond, supported by three massive helium balloons. Show the rest of this post…

With the gardens taking a new theme every Autumn, this year’s “Flight” has seen other artists painting UFOs and jets across the grounds, but it’s Grossetete that easily steals the limelight. Though visitors weren’t allowed to actually step foot on the bridge, Grossetete claims it could hold the weight of a person, though you’d have to swim out into the lake to try.
