Shooting their last music video in under 5 seconds then it playing back in super slow motion, and the time before that jetting into space, OK Go’s new single Obsession sees 567 printers rigged together to form a two-sided, kaleidoscopic wall. Synchronising printouts to create a series of amazing geometric patterns, the band dart around infront to create enough geometric chaos to break YouTube’s compression settings. Directed by front Damian Kulash, Jr. and Yusuke Tanaka, watch the video at 1440p or 2160p – not just ‘Auto HD’ – to experience the full impact.

Never ones to over-play release news, Brooklyn five-piece Real Estate announced their fourth album, In Mind, with the video for new single, Darling, which sees the band perform alongside a horse. Their first LP since guitarist Matt Mondanile left the band to concentrate on his own Ducktails project, Darling, however, is still Real Estate through and through. With sleek hooks setting the mood alongside Martin Courtney’s tempered vocals, in the video, their set is quickly interrupted by a trespassing horse, eager to lick the cymbals, nibble band members, or just stand in front of the camera. With almost a couple of months until In Mind hits the shelves, hopefully another new single and tour dates are to come before March 17th. Video directed by Weird Days.

Part of a series of music videos and live visuals for musician Thug Entrancer, Ronin is Milton Melvin Croissant III‘s stunning black and white, retro animation. Set in a neo-futuristic world of high rise cities above, and raves down below, the video follows a huge ship as it makes its way to a distant planet, before transporting you into the mind of the ship’s leader. The first track off upcoming album, Summer 08, Old Skool is a throwback to middle England dinner parties, with parents letting loose downstairs while the kids experience the mayhem through the banisters. Styled to a T, director Dawn Shadforth‘s music video comes complete with shag carpets, bell bottoms and too much food and drink, as Sharon Horgan and Ben Crompton take a lead on the dance floor. As the eccentricities play along to the quirky track, the album itself is named in honor of the last summer front man Joseph Mount had free, so hopefully the rest of it is similarly spritely. Metronomy’s new album, Summer 08, is out July 1st.
