Based on Andy Weir’s best-selling novel of the same name, Ridley Scott’s The Martian follows astronaut Mark Watney (Damon), assumed dead and abandoned on Mars after a massive storm hits NASA’s deep space team. With their temporary base only intended for a month’s habitation, Watney is forced to make the most of his supplies and find a new way to contact his crew, or wait four years for NASA to send a new rescue team. Co-starring Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Donald Glover, Mackenzie Davis, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, The Martian hits theatres September 30th in the UK and October 2nd in the States.
