Yet another example of why HBO is leading the way with new TV shows of late, True Blood took America by storm after premièring Stateside last summer. Set in the little town of Bon Temps, after a vampire race have revealed themselves to the world, one waitress finds the allure of a mysterious newcomer a little tempting to resist, only soon after his arrival a number of murders and mysteries bring unwanted strain and attention on the relationship.

Something of a slow starter, True Blood season 1 take a few episodes to really get going, but once it does, it’s hard to take your eyes off it.
