To be honest, even if I was sitting on $20m, I probably wouldn’t consider buying the Amityville Horror House, but it’s a compelling addition to the market nonetheless. Now up for sale, 112 Ocean Avenue was the scene for the real life DeFeo murders and subsequent hauntings of the Lutz family that spawned a handful of best selling books and a nine-film cinematic franchise. You can’t really get much more character and history than in this property, on the market at $1.15m. Book your viewings now, it probably won’t be on offer for too long.
