Don’t Fear The Brodinski

By Rob Henneberry on 13 Jul 2009

Brodinski is the DJ and producer everyone is talking about at the moment. He dropped an epic set at Bugged Out at Fabric two weeks back and joins illustrious company (Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco and Erol Alkan) in compiling the latest Bugged Out mix. Show the rest of this post…

It’s well worth a listen, grab it from here.

He differs from his largely electro-orientated Parisian compatriots favouring a fresh mix of electro and minimal-techno in his sets. Most of the tracks he’s produced are techno flavoured and the track Oblivion is huge at the moment. However I’ve chosen the Brodinski & Yuksek remix of Lose You by Peaches as my track of the week. Its a great sound and just builds and builds through the track around Peaches’s vocals:

Bonus, check out the video for this song by Major Lazer, an awesome but silly project by fidget-house maestros Diplo and Switch:

Dance through to the morning light next weekend at what promises to be a great night of music. Show the rest of this post…

The kings of electro Ed Banger are holding their 6 1/2 birthday party at the Coronet Theatre in Elephant and Castle. Head of label and former Daft Punk manager Busy P mans the decks along with SebastiAn, Feadz and other Ed Banger coolcats. DJing in the second room are indie darlings Friendly Fires and Mystery Jets. What more can you ask for?

And a new feature on the Fan the Fire Magazine blog, my track of the week. For the inaugural track, Chase & Status’ remix of White Lies’ track ‘Death’. You’ll be listening to it on repeat for some time…

FAN THE FIRE is a digital magazine about lifestyle and creative culture. Launching back in 2005 as a digital publication about Sony’s PSP handheld games console, we’ve grown and evolved now covering the arts and lifestyle, architecture, design and travel.
