Excitement’s building for Grand Theft Auto 5, the latest in what is quite frankly, one of the best video game series ever made. With the game set for release on September 17th, Rockstar have released its first in-game footage, which alongside gold, tennis and cycling mini-games, looks better than ever. With players taking control of three characters working together to complete a series of increasingly ambitious heists, you build up your own crew, opting for either expensive veterans or cheap newcomers as they fight their way to the top of the criminal underworld. With a fancy new slo-mo gun-changing mechanic and improved cover and targeting system, GTA5 will be the most sophisticated game yet, while you can expect their ever-engrossing plot to keep you gripped along the way. Fingers crossed it’s coming to next-gen consoles too.

The latest in a long line of first person shooter and stealth games, The Division is an open-world RPG set in New York three weeks into a global pandemic that hit on Black Friday. With a team playing together to explore the environment and take down a bunch of rebel fighters, while we don’t know too much about what sort of plot will run through the title, simply exploring the terrain looks entertaining enough. The Division is coming to PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

Building on the teaser trailer Konami released back in March, the gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain exposes a change of direction for the tactical espionage title, making Solid Snake’s landscape a free-flowing open-world scenario and hopefully a wider berth for the plot to develop too. With Kiefer Sutherland set to star as Big Boss, the trailer focuses on a lot of avoiding suspicion during transportation, though it seems apparent there will be a lot of getting from A to B, which hopefully won’t disrupt the flow too much. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes to PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

Though the series has tailed off somewhat in recent years, the early Ratchet & Clank titles were some of the very best platformer games for PS2. Developers Insomniac Games will play a “hands-on role” in the film’s production which will reportedly tell the origin story of the trouble-solving duo; Ratchet a human-like animal who is a mechanic by trade, and Clank, a sentient robot. The voice cast from the games will continue their good work for the movie, due in theatres 2015.
