Produced for the 2014 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, artist Ian Strange‘s magnificent installation Landed drops a 1920s suburban home in the Art Gallery of South Australia‘s forecourt, as if it fell from the sky. Entirely matte black with the porch light on, the juxtaposition of architectural styles in front of the neo-classical museum itself is a sight to behold, but the installation is also a reference to the Wizard of Oz and sudden influence of Western culture on Australia. Landed runs until May 11 at the Art Gallery of South Australia in Adelaide.
