The brainchild of Ben Light, Christie Leece, Inessah Selditz and Matt Richardson who their piece as “transforming a traditional storefront into a literal call to action – engaging pedestrians into a playful two way interaction,” Bird on a Wire is the most magical of installations. Taking over a storefront in SoHo, Manhattan, the charming project sees a line of birds sitting silently on a wire, but when you call a number displayed on the window from your phone, they’re disturbed into a wave of life, with bird sounds playing out of your earpiece. What a fantastic city New York really is, our thoughts are with all of those affected by Hurricane Sandy, in the Big Apple and beyond.
