After his unceremonious exit from The Walking Dead, Frank Darabont returns to TV with Mob City. Formerly titled L.A. Noir and then Lost Angels, the show chronicles the fight between the gangsters and the police in 1940’s Los Angeles, hotting up when the LAPD set up a specialised mob squad. Worries this could tread the same lines as Ruben Fleischer’s turgid Gangster Squad aren’t unfounded, but in the hands of the legendary Frank Darabont, the same sort of story should find a new lease of life. Mob City premieres Wednesday 4th December on TNT.
