Guilty Pleasures: Gossip Girl

After launching last Autumn, we picked Gossip Girl out as one of the more promising new shows. Based on the novels of the same name, Josh Schwartz has worked his O.C. magic to create surprisingly entertaining teen drama, you probably shouldn’t admit to loving in public, but on the comfort of your home sofa, will have you grasping for the remote.

There’s just something about the antics of New York City’s Upper East Side socialites that is just so watchable. With a handful of very distinct characters, love them or hate them, as they fight, party and get up to all sorts of mischief, the unrelenting pace will have you tuning in every week. Watch once and get hooked. You won’t admit it, but you won’t regret it.

Unlike the disastrous Bionic Woman, after the everlasting W.G.A. writer’s strike, Gossip Girl will return for another 5 episodes, topping series one up to 18 outings with second season already confirmed. All especially impressive given the difficulties other shows have faced over the past few month.
