‘Girls’ returns with a new season that’ll hopefully lighten the tone after a gloomy second outing

The magnificent first season of Girls was a breath of fresh air when it premiered April 2012, but the bleak second grew tiresome by the end. Hopefully the third season will see the return to more of a light-hearted tone and a little more humour as the girls are all pretty much back to square one. Girls returns to HBO on January 12, 2014.

FAN THE FIRE is a digital magazine about lifestyle and creative culture. Launching back in 2005 as a digital publication about Sony’s PSP handheld games console, we’ve grown and evolved now covering the arts and lifestyle, architecture, design and travel.
