SXSW has built its magnificent reputation around its music festival. Known for breaking new bands and providing a platform to catch such a diverse range genres and styles, in recent years, better known artists have even crashed the party too.

Taking over every venue, bar, hotel lobby, you name it, the SXSW Music Festival is like nothing you’ll have experienced before, 5 days of manic racing around and so many live acts every way you turn.

SXSW Music is about catching bands you’ve never heard of, but you still need to do your research if you’re to see some of the hot tips. This year the pick of the line-up is synthpop three-piece Future Islands, playing once, if not twice, every day. Elsewhere, the list is endless, but we’d recommend Real Estate, Panama Wedding, Skaters, RAC, Sam Smith, Dum Dum Girls, SZA, Tensnake and Childish Gambino.

SXSW Music hits Austin from March 11thth-15th, we’ll be at the festival so check back then for daily round-ups and much more.
