When we’re planning our DJ sets, there are a few tracks that make the list before any others. We’ll also slot in something by The Cribs, ‘My Delirium’ by Ladyhawke, ‘Elvis’ by These New Puritans and a track by Mystery Jets. Recently we added another band to our ‘must-haves’, only unlike the others, they’re yet to break their own country, never mind make a name for themselves in the UK.
Opening for the Ting Tings on their dates in Bordeaux and Lyon in the coming weeks, and touring France’s club in between, We Are Enfant Terrible are undoubtedly the next big thing in French electro, the world just doesn’t know it yet. But they will before you know it.
‘Lobster Quadrille’ is a stunning track, finding a balance between the pumping bass and effervescent beats of Daft Punk and rhythm and smooth vocals of the aforementioned Ladyhawke, and the rest of their catalogue doesn’t let up. Expect to be hearing a lot more from We Are Enfant Terrible in the very near future.
