I’ve Got The Williams Blood In Me

If you’re in London this weekend head to Field Day in Victoria part. Its only 35 quid and you get a lot for your money with bands such as Mogwai, The Horrors and Mystery Jets Standing out. The DJ lineup is even better with Erol Alkan, Fake Blood and Rusko on the decks. The act that i’m looking forward to most is Aeroplane, who are two Belgian Italodisco producers and DJs that brought us the sublime remix of Sebastien Tellier’s Kilometre earlier in the year.

I’m choosing for my track of the week a remix of Grace Jones’ track Williams Blood which they dropped way back in 2008. Its a beautiful track and is a perfect example of nu-disco/italodisco (which is a supremely danceable sound with tracks of about 110 BPM). Its a refreshing change from the distortion heavy, fidgety electro I’ve been listening to recently, kinda reminds me of why I got into dance music in the first place.

Hopefully Aeroplane will bring a bit of sunshine to Victoria Park this weekend because it looks like the weather is going to be terrible in England all summer. They’re also playing at the official Field Day afterparty at the newly opened Cable Club under the arches on the south bank, the lineup for this is also pretty pretty good.
