With the reputation of the Film Festival quickly catching up with SXSW Music, this year boasts as stellar a line-up as they’ve ever had. With Jon Favreau’s Chefplaying on opening night, the out of competition films include some big names.

The line-up includes Jason Bateman’s directorial debut, crude spelling bee comedy Bad Words Richard Linklater’s 12-year epic Boyhood, the Zellner brothers’ Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter and Sundance favourite Obvious Child. Plus of course, Vergonica Mars and action sequel The Raid 2.

In competition there are a lot of hot properties competing for the crown. From teen comedy Premature, moody drama The Wilderness of James and quirky Brooklyn movie Fort Tilden, to Aussie comedy The Mule, hotly-tipped drama Before I Disappear and tennis comedy Break Point.

While the Midnighters line-up includes intriging thriller 13 Sins, camping horror Exists and newlywed thriller Honeymoon, plus much more.

SXSW Film hits Austin from March 7th-15th, we’ll be at the festival so check back then for reviews and much more.
