Sherlock… Holmes?

Only Guy Ritchie. Only Guy Ritchie could (or is that ‘would’?) have made a Sherlock Holmes film like this. The most irritating thing about the recently released trailer is that it actually looks pretty good.

Like many, I was dubiously awaiting the first footage of Guy Ritchie’s move away from gangsters, but now that it’s here I’m not sure what to make of it. The trailer is balls-out, slick and action packed but then, we already knew Ritchie wasn’t exactly following the books 100%. The best part of the whole thing is undoubtedly Downey Jr, who gets a couple of good laughs in the trailer and looks like he’s having the time of his life. The chemistry between him and Jude Law (who plays Dr. Watson) also seems to be good.

Elsewhere, Rachel McAdams dons some skimpy clothes and bends over, some stuff explodes and there’s some Zac Snyder-esque slow-motion boxing (not a high point). All in all, its crazy stuff, but who expected anything different?
