After the thick and fast meta-story updates when Cloverfield was released in the US in late January, the blogsphere ran cold as all news dried up in an instant. Left dangling over the origin of the monster, seemingly to be explained by the viral websites, and awaiting “Janice’s picture”, fans demanded more only to be let down by the film they had dedicated their lives to hyping up.

On April 5th Cloverfield hits Japanese cinemas, and after a second “Kishin” manga, 1-18-08.com has finally received another update.

The twelfth image to hit the movie’s teaser site is a missing person poster for video blogger Jamie’s lost boyfriend. Thought to be one of the freedom fighters behind TIDO Wave and involved in the Chuai station investigation, whether he has killed by Tagruato’s troops, eaten by the monster or somehow found safety when the drilling collapsed, only time will tell.

With the DVD due for imminent release in the US and UK, hopefully the viral game is back for a while yet.
