The first trailer has emerged for Kill Command by first-time director Steven Gomez, who’s debut film seemed to bear some similarities to Gareth Edwards’ Monsters from a few years back. As it happens, the two directors are good friends.

Kill Command is set in the near future, in a technology-reliant society. Against this backdrop, an elite army unit is sent to a remote island training facility. What starts out as a simple training exercise for Captain Bukes (Thure Lindhardt) and his squad descends into a terrifying battle to the death, as the marines discover the island is overrun by an enemy that transcends the human concept of evil.

The film, which also stars Vanessa Kirby (Everest, Jupiter Ascending), will be out in UK cinemas in May, and looks like a fun twist on AI-themed thrillers, with a bit of Predator thrown in for good measure.
