Playing something like an alternate WALL·E, Tom Cruise is one of the few surviving humans on Earth, evacuated after a galactic war that tore their planet apart. Part of the “mop-up crew”, his job is maintaining droids and playing security guard before he and his commander take off for the human race’s new home too. Only when a mysterious object falls to earth, secrets about what really happened start to unravel. Though Cruise is simply again playing, well, Tom Cruise, at least Morgan Freeman should give the film some gravity, hitting theatres April 12th.
