Co-directed by one of the producers of Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, and director of a Scrat short, Despicable Me might not inspire confidence on paper, but the trailer is showing a lot of potential. With a funny family fronting the film as a masked villain steals landmarks from across the world, and a pleasing role for Jack McBrayer, more commonly known for portraying Kenneth in 30 Rock, Despicable Me could just be a rival for next year’s Dreamworks release, to battle with Pixar, however, they’ll still need to raise their game a little.

Despicable Me is out Summer 2010.
