Next in the line of Danny Boyle’s excellent genre-hopping feature films, Sunshine follows an intrepid crew on their journey across space to re-ignite the dying Sun. The group must fight for not only their own lives, but for the future of mankind as they come across a past the ship of a previous attempted mission. Sunshine is a little too slow moving and suffers from a stodgy middle portion before picking up for a thrilling finale as the special effects really make you think you’re in the thick of the action, deep in space.

The DVD is also packed with extra content; a couple of commentaries, one by physicist Dr. Brian Cox and the other from the director, some useful deleted scenes including an alternate ending and 2 short films by cast on the project, there’s more than enough for your money.
