Set on and behind the scenes of a cable news show, Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom sees him return to the small screen after a couple of critically-acclaimed releases on film. Jeff Daniels takes the lead alongside an all-star cast that includes Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterson, Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn and Jane Fonda. The Newsroom premieres this summer on HBO. Maybe they’ll reclaim their past glories after all. Maybe.

HBO’s leading torch of late and based on George R. R. Martin’s best-selling A Song of Ice And Fire series, Game Of Thrones chronicles the violent and frequently explicit fight amongst the noble families of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros for control of the Iron Throne and dominance of land as far as the eye can see. Though as times season one can be something of a handful, invest time into it and the show’s intertwining narrative will soon suck you in. Amazing ensemble cast too.

The latest 13-episode run is set to explore the Don-Joan dynamic and in preparation, AMC have build a handy countdown clock until the date it’s back on TV.

Odd Future make their “hilarious” TV debut, yes, they have a TV show now, and somehow they’ve swung it a slot on Adult Swim. Given that’s it’s being produced by Dickhouse (Jackass), it surprisingly has a little clout too. Then again, watch the teaser and you’ll probably agree the whole thing looks dreadful. Loiter Squad debuts March 25th.

The line between staying fresh and abandoning your strengths is very fine. In the case of one 10 O’Clock Live host there may not have been any strengths to start with, but Kevin Bridges is sadly walking away from his talents and onto the beaten track. More

There’s a definite trick to being original. When the old ideas start to become a bit stale, the solution certainly is not to become more ridiculous. More
