One of our favourite bands at SXSW, Beach Fossils released this video for Shallow not too long ago, formed of footage on tour by Dustin Payseur, live by Ian Perlman. We couldn’t be more excited for their upcoming album.
Directed and animated by Nick Torres, Mister Lies make a subtle video that’s a match for the title of their single.
Off their album Lenses Alien, Cymbals Eat Guitars’ new video for Definite Darkness see a massive dance at a high school. Directed by talented Jamie Harley, who has previously shot for the amazing Twin Shadow amongst others.
Out now on on Captured Tracks, Ghost Dream’s latest single Blouse is just that – a crazy, psychedelic journey through a mind too crazy to inhabit. Directed by Gusti Fink and Helmut Ash Kaway. Produced by $ANDBOXXX.
At last finding the real acclaim they deserve, last year’s self-titled album was a real breakthrough for Bon Iver. So it’s unsurprisingly they’re not slowing up with releases. Directed by Nabil Elderkin, a new video for their track Towers is set on the seas, about an old sailor who dreams of towers. Excited about more from Bon Iver to come.
Long overdue a big hit in the mainstream, Yuksek takes Photo Booth mirror effects to the extreme on his new video for Off The Wall. Directed by Romain Segaud, the concept goes bar beyond half a face and silly expressions with arms and floating cuts out popping up all over the place. It’s colourful and lively too, good work all round.
One of the star performers of SXSW last year, and putting out one of our favourite albums in the last 12 months, Tennis though aren’t resting on their laurels. Releasing Young & Old on Valentine’s Day, their sophomore picks up right where they left off, in fact, it’s even better. Directed by Richard Law, this Origins video is pretty amazing too.
“You can’t spell Shangri-La without L.A.” Brandon Vedder directs for YACHT’s new single, about dozens of extended members in the YACHT family, sharing a space of their own invention, spotted with magical realism.
Co-directed by Yamantaka // Sonic Titan’s own Ruby Kato Attwood and Emily Pelstring, their video for Hoshi Neko matches the remarkable track, “making a guess about what might have happened to Ruby’s lost cat, Hoshi, after he embarked on his lone adventure.” The star at the beginning and end drawn by Emily. Other art by Ruby.
Starring Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion of the band, Isaiah Seret directs a video as romantic as the track itself.
