Now amusingly titled Avengers Assemble in the UK, the new trailer reveals a lot of new footage, and a lot of New York as hopefully the Big Apple is becoming quite important to the story. Or at least that we’ll see them rampaging around Spring Street. The Avengers, that’s the Marvel movie not the 1960s British spy show, because I know you were all confused, is out April 26th in the UK, May 4th in the States, and it’s starting to look like it might be good.

After a 14 year gap, Whit Stillman makes his eagerly anticipated returo to filmmaking with Damsels In Distress, here in the director’s chair from his own script. Boasting a wonderfully indie ensemble cast that includes Greta Gerwig, Analeigh Tipton, Adam Brody, Alia Shawkat, Aubrey Plaza, and Zach Woods, the film follows a trio of girls who set out to revolutionize life at a grungy East Coast College. Out April 6th in America, and April 27th in the UK.

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. Brave tells new tale, and will hopefully be a quick return for the usually breathtaking Pixar. Directed by Mark Andrews of the Emeryville animation studio’s One Man Band short and Brenda Chapman, Brave is out June 22nd in the States and August 13th in the UK, let anticipation commence.

That’s it’s coming out in 3D appears to already be a massive frustration but at least there’s Emma Stone to perk interest back up when The Amazing Spider-Man hits on July 4th. (500) Days Of Summer director Marc Webb is in charge of things behind the camera and it’ll be interesting to see just how much control he was given by studio Sony who are behind it, or how obvious their product placement will be. On current form, we’re predicting very.

I feel like it’s been at least weeks, even months, since the last plot-free, Jason Statham action thrill-ride, good thing then (?) that Safe is just around the corner. Here he plays a “second-rate cage fighter on the mixed martial arts circuit”, the Russian Mafia take a dislike to him, and you know the rest. There’s a little Chinese girl for to save too.

Another in Jason Segel’s quickly ascending path to the comedy A-list, Jay and Mark Duplass write/direct a film about slacker Jeff (Segel), dispatched from his basement room on an errand for his mother, spending the day with his brother (Helms) as they track down his possibly adulterous wife. Jeff, Who Lives At Home is out March 16th.

Unfortunately placing more importance on the producer status of tiresome The Hangover’s Todd Phillips than exciting music video director Nima Nourizadeh’s debut on the silver screen, the full trailer for Project X does however promise much and looks like following through on an excellent teaser after all. Project X is out March 2.

Sony are notorious for product placement, but the new trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution is a disgrace even by their standards. First giving limelight to one of their phones, then the new PSP Vita and lastly one of their awful tablets, the studio might talk of it as a witty take on the very product placement that has turned themselves into a laughing stock, but it’s anything but. Oh, and the film looks pretty dreadful too. Resident Evil: Retribution is out September 14th, Sony products available now! We, however, will not be buying any of them, nor a cinema ticket.
