Artist Tom Burr lends his hand to table tennis table design and with quite the impact. With a rubber surface to give added bounce, the table might not meet ITTF regulations, but that that isn’t really the point. A limited run of just ten units, of the $45,000 price tag, $2,500 goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters too. Available from Neiman Marcus.

With an inflatable structure, Heimplanet’s The Cave tent will go from a pile fabrics to pitched cover for the night in under a minute, while the diamond grid structure also provides excellent stability. Formed of a waterproof polyester outer surface and lightweight waterproof nylon on the inside, The Cave also boasts an anti-mosquito screen and a rugged outsole made of waterproof polyester. Sleeping two/three people, The Cave will set you back €499, available here, though we probably wouldn’t recommend such a fancy looking thing for a music festival.

Invited by the Singapore Art Museum and FARM to design something for Made For SAM, a re-invention of everyday items to bring new and inspiring functionality that you can use in your daily life, SILNT’s brief was to design a pencil case for grown-ups, and with Adapter, they’ve nailed it. A flexible plug that can be used in almost any cylindrical object, Adapter turns it into an organised pencil holder. Available at the FARM online store.
